Ebenezer, Standing on a 150-year Foundation

In celebration of Black History Month, the Friends of the New Brunswick Free Public Library present this free program in collaboration with The New Brunswick African American Heritage Committee, Inc. Anyone interested may attend.

Rev. Lauren M. Carrington will present the history of Ebenezer Baptist Church. The church, organized in 1873, is the third oldest Baptist church established by a small group of Black Christians in New Jersey. Ebenezer celebrated 150 years of serving the New Brunswick community in November 2023.

The Reverend Lauren Moore Carrington, President of the New Brunswick African American Heritage Committee, has served as Associate Minister over 20 years, and recently served as Interim Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
