Delta Mouth Literary FestivalFriday, April 5 through Sunday, April 7LSU's Creative Writing Program will hold its 12th annual Delta Mouth Literary Festival. The three-day festival will be held at spaces across Baton Rouge, and it is free and open to the public. This year's events will feature readings and panels by nine acclaimed authors, including award-winning poet and UNO professor Carolyn Hembree, Pushcart Prize Recipient Gina Chung, and 2023's National Book Award Winner Justin Torres. APRIL 6, 2024 @ 11:00 AM-12:00 PM EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH LIBRARY, RIVER CENTER BRANCH (ROOM 416) 250 NORTH BOULEVARD, BATON ROUGE, LA 70802 PANEL: ON PLACE A delta is a place of conjunction and separation, a space where there is both convergence and divergence, where one thing is able to become many. The idea of place is influential to writing on multiple planes: both through the influence of the immediate environment of the writer, and in the place the writer chooses to situate their writing within. Some write in and about the same place, while others find it easier to write about a place with some distance. Location creates an immediacy because of our constantly changing landscape: is it possible to engage with place without also engaging with our constantly changing geography? In this panel, writers will discuss how they see their work engaging with ideas of place. Check out www.deltamouth.com for more information and details!
