Due to low attendance, this computer class series has been pushed back by one week. It now begins on April 9, 2026.
This computer class is recommended for people who have a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office (or who have taken a Beginner’s Microsoft Office computer class). Learn intermediate concepts in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher such as: using tables and editing headers/footers, using conditional values and creating charts/graphs, animating slides and using timing, as well as creating shapes and inserting building blocks.
- Week 1 - April 9: Intermediate Word
- Find and replace text, use the thesaurus and format painter.
- Create a flyer by using Word Art, online pictures, text boxes, and shapes.
- Create and edit a table.
- Format the page layout by using bullets and numbers, adding columns, and inserting headers/footers and page numbers.
- Week 2 - April 16: Intermediate Excel
- Edit a spreadsheet and sort data.
- Insert and delete rows/columns.
- Use a formula, conditional formatting, comments, and freeze panes.
- Create and edit a chart from the spreadsheet data.
- Create a table and sort/filter data as well as delve into an advanced formula.
- Week 3 - April 23: Intermediate PowerPoint
- Insert various objects including video, audio, SmartArt, etc.
- Apply various formatting changes to your slides.
- Become skilled at using special effects such as transitions, animation, and timing.
- Play your slide show and learn presentation tips that will enhance any presentation.
- Week 4 - April 30: Intermediate Publisher
- Create a sign using a background image and text box.
- Create a tri-fold brochure using a built-in template.
- Work with various objects including building blocks, placeholders, pictures, and shapes.
- Learn how to save as a JPEG (or other image file).
