America 250: An Evening with Paul Revere

Join local historian and reenactor, John Huffman, as he embodies founding father Paul Revere.

Come and learn about:

  • Paul Revere's family roots in France
  • How he became the master of his own silver shop
  • Why he took up dentistry for a time
  • His role in the Boston Massacre and the "tea party"
  • What were the real circumstances of his Midnight Ride
  • How he dealt with the deaths of his wife and children
  • What important contributions he made after the end of the American Revolution

John Huffman is a historian who specializes in portraying heroes from history in the first person, dressed in period attire.  He enjoys telling true stories in an engaging way, making history come alive for adults and children alike.  He welcomes questions and is always happy for you and your children to take pictures of him after a presentation.

This is a family friendly event, but geared more toward adults.

This event made possible in partnership with the Daughters of the American Revolution, Sons of the American Revolution, the O'Fallon Historical Society, and the City of O'Fallon.
