Guitarist Nicholas Veine takes us on a musical and historical survey of the Blues from the turn of the 20th Century until World War II. This presentation covers the heavy hitters of acoustic blues music from Blind Lemon Jefferson to Charley Patton, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters and more. This presentation touches on the longstanding tradition of the disenfranchisement of people of African descent, how that mistreatment created the Blues, and the indelible mark left on American Music and Art.
This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
