Ann Arbor, MI
Ann Arbor is a lively city with a population of over 120,000 people. It is located in Southeast Michigan and is best known as the home of the University of Michigan. It is also home to “The Big House” which is the largest football stadium in the United States. In addition to being a college town, Ann Arbor is known for its amazing local restaurants. The taste of Ann Arbor is an annual event in which visitors can sample the local cuisine. Other events include the Ann Arbor Art Fair, FestiFools, Shakespeare in the Arb, and the Ann Arbor Film Festival.
Ann Arbor is one of the top 20 waste reduction communities in the U.S. and has been named a “Recycling Pioneer” by the EPA. Nichols Arboretum and the Matthaei Botanical Gardens are popular destinations, as well as the city’s 158 parks. Other things to do include visiting the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum, the University of Michigan Museum of Art, the Michigan Theatre, and Kerrytown. Be on the lookout for tiny doors around the city. Since 2005, fairy doors have adorned many of the buildings in Ann Arbor.
