Art Explorers

In Art Explorers, children ages 8-12 learn about famous artists and their distinct styles, sparking discovery of art history as well as creativity. Young art enthusiasts will then complete their very own masterpieces inspired by that session’s featured art style.  This fall, we will meet at 4 p.m. in the Library's Jones Meeting Center on the following Fridays: September 12, October 10*, and November 14. Registration is required.

*October’s session of Art Explorers is going to be extra special, because we’re going on an art field trip! We’ll meet in the Library’s Jones Meeting Center at 4 p.m. and walk as a group to the Fischman Gallery to take a tour and talk with October’s featured artist, Beverly Jenkins, about her work and techniques. The gallery is located across the street from the Library, on the other side of King Commons Park at 133 North Commerce Street. Caregivers must accompany their children on the field trip.
