Audiobook Walking Club
July 9, 2026, 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Manistee County Library
Book Club, Fitness & Health, Free, Library, Outdoor
Calling all book lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, introverts, and/or anyone looking to get their steps in!
Whether you’re trying to move more, make time for reading, or simply enjoy a walk with good company, we welcome you to join our new seasonal program. Audiobook Walking Club will take place on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6 p.m at a rotating location.
In July we will meet at Portage Point Woods Preserve in Onekama to walk the trail. Each month we will explore a different location in Manistee County! *Please note that pets are not permitted on this trail.*
**This is not a book club, you will pick your book of choice!
Come prepared to walk about 1.5 miles over the course of about 30-45 minutes. We'll be walking a loop with clear markings, so you'll be able to navigate the route at your own pace. Make sure you have an audiobook queued up to enjoy and your own headphones. Each walker will listen to their own individual books.
Afterwards there will be the option to chat and connect.
(If you’re not already using Libby and/or Hoopla for free audiobooks, stop into any branch before the program so we can set you up for success!)
Directions:
From Onekama head north for a mile on M-22 and then turn west onto Portage Point Drive for 1.8 miles. Turn north onto Herkelrath Road and within a quarter mile the preserve is posted on the west side of the road.
