Join us on Saturday, August 19 at 2 p.m. for an author talk with local poet Catherine Pritchard Childress in the Jones Meeting Center. Childress will read from and discuss her newest book, Outside the Frame. A Q&A session with attendees will follow. No registration required; contact Adult Services at (423) 434-4454 for more information.
Outside the Frame is a "collection of poems that are accessible and thought-provoking, and is a book of light and dark, of strong voices and wide-ranging perspectives. These poems will linger in the reader’s mind long after the last page has been turned" (Eastover Press, 2023).
Catherine Pritchard Childress' website biography states that she "lives in the Appalachian Mountains of East Tennessee, where she teaches writing and literature at Lees-McRae College. Her work has appeared in several publications including the North American Review, Louisiana Literature, Still: The Journal, and has been anthologized in several volumes including Southern Poetry Anthology Volume VI: Tennessee. Childress is also the author of Other (Finishing Line Press, 2015).
