Join us on Saturday, September 30 at 2 p.m. for an author talk with local poet Linda Parsons in the Jones Meeting Center. Parsons will be reading from and discussing her newest book, Valediction. In partnership with Atlas Books, copies of Parsons' book will be available for purchase.
Valediction is a "collection of poems, diptychs, and micro essays that bring into focus our lives' oppositions...In this striving, we are balanced and grounded with her as she lifts the veil on what it means to live and create fully, even in the face of impermanence."
"Poet, playwright, essayist, and editor, Linda Parsons is the poetry editor for Madville Publishing and the copy editor for Chapter 16, the literary website of Humanities Tennessee. Published in such journals as The Georgia Review, Southern Poetry Review, Terrain, and Shenandoah, her fifth poetry collection is Candescent (Iris Press, 2019). Five of her plays have been produced by Flying Anvil Theatre in Knoxville, Tennessee, where she lives and gardens" (Madville Publishing, 2023).
No registration required. Contact Adult Services at (423) 434-4454 for more information.
