Bates Alley Grand Opening

A year ago, Bates Alley was a little-known, under-invested alley along the backside of businesses along East Michigan Avenue between Portage and Edwards Streets. With the help of donor funding, volunteer time and countless hours of planning, Bates Alley is becoming a non-motorized pedestrian promenade, complete with outdoor seating for the bars and restaurants along the block, festive bistro lighting strung over the alley and a street mural designed and painted by local artist Patrick Hershberger. Please join us at October's ArtHop at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 5 for the grand opening of Bates Alley. There will be food and drink, special guest speakers and entertainment throughout the evening.
