Project:
Approximate time required: 1h and 30 min. Some knitting progress in
between classes may be required (depending on individual speed and beginning level
and if familiar or not with the needle/yarn handling).
Material:
- One pair of knitting needles US 6 or 7
- 2 skeins of your choice for knitting needles US 6 or 7 (worsted weight yarn for US-6
to 7 knitting needles, about 400 yds and about 200gr total).
- Tapestry needle suitable for knitting projects (metal or plastic)
- Measuring tape (in case also a ruler will work fine)
- Suggested one crochet hook approximate size (or suitable for the yarn size we are
using).
The crochet hook is useful to help correct mistakes, like when you have a dropped
stitch to pick up.
Skills and information you will learn:
Type of yarn and care Type of knitting needles
Cast on
Knit and Purl
Pick up dropped stitches
Bind off
Weave in ends
Sew a seem
* During open knit, community is invited to come and knit with friends but no instruction will be offered on that day.
