Belle Isle, MI

Nicked named the “Jewel of Detroit”, Belle Isle is a state park located on the Detroit River between Michigan, United States and Ontario, Canada. Belle Isle is a 982-acre island that is the largest island park in the U.S. Visitors can view the cities of Detroit and Windsor. Belle Isle works closely with the Department of Natural Resources and the City of Detroit to preserve the environment and historical sites. Fun attractions include the Belle Isle Aquarium, Anna Scripps Witcomb Conservatory, Dossin Great Lakes Museum, and the Belle Isle Nature Center. Visitors can walk or bike around the island and enjoy three lakes, a lagoon, and acres of forest wetland that are home to a variety of animals, such as raccoons, fox, and birds.
