November 6, 2024, 6:00pm - 7:30pm

Hastings Public Library

Educational, Technology

Are you leery of browsing online?
Do you wonder about how to manage all of your passwords?
Do you get unsolicited emails with offers that look too good to be true?

Join us to learn more about how to protect yourself online.

Note this is a repeat of previous classes but we plan to have some new content.

Cybersecurity is all about the safety of information—our identity, our personal data, and our financial assets—when we’re online.

Cybersecurity means that:

  • Your personal data is accessible only to you or others you authorize, and that
  • Your devices—laptops, desktop computers, mobile phones, tablets— work properly and are free from malware.

We will talk about email SPAM, secure passwords, anti-virus software, VPNs and more.

Bring your own laptop or use one of ours (max of 6 available). Tablets and phones work too.
Let us know when you register if you have your own device.
Light snacks and water will be provided.

REGISTRATION is Requested but walk-ins are accepted.

This workshop is part of the Digital Literacy for Everyone series made possible by the PLA Digital Literacy Workshop Incentive, supported by AT&T.
