Detroit Trouble delivers blue-collar Detroit blues-rock with grit, soul, and a deep respect for the roots of American rock and roll. Formed in 2015 by frontman Kidd Lightning, the band blends classic blues influences with the hard-driving spirit of Detroit rock, creating a sound that is both timeless and unmistakably Motor City. Their performances feature a powerful mix of original songs and carefully chosen covers, all delivered with tight musicianship, soulful swagger, and the kind of raw authenticity that speaks to the everyday triumphs and struggles of working-class life. Their music struck such a chord with audiences at The PLAT that they’ve been invited back for another appearance. When Detroit Trouble takes the stage here, the room fills with gritty riffs, deep grooves, and an undeniable pulse of live energy—transforming the intimate listening-room atmosphere of The PLAT into a charged, immersive night where every note lands and the crowd rides the music from the first chord to the final encore.
See them live at Pontiac’s Little Art Theatre (47 N Saginaw St, Pontiac, MI) on FRIDAY, May 22, 2026, at 5 PM.
