In 1963, Detroit was in a global competition to host the 1968 Olympics but a strong grassroots movement fighting for civil rights equality provided opposition to the effort.
The new documentary Detroit’s Olympic Uprising tells the story of this little-known bit of Detroit’s history.
The registration page for the event is located in the Library’s events calendar at dearbornlibrary.org.
