Creative Studio for Adults: Funky, Freely-Shaped Watercolor Mushrooms

Did you love art class back in school? Have you been wanting to dive into a new hobby, but don’t want to deal with a massive financial investment? Do you want to practice being mindful and present in an activity that requires zero screen time? Are you just plain interested in going analog when the rest of the world is going tech?

Let’s get back to the basics of exploring and creating. Welcome to Creative Studio for Adults! These sessions require no prior knowledge, skill, or background in the arts—just a simple desire to learn something new with your hands. Together, we will explore a wide variety of tactile mediums, including watercolor, pen and ink, markers, stickers, and much more.

Come see what you’ve been missing while you’ve been busy adulting! All supplies are generously provided by the library. Just bring yourself and an open mind.

Funky, Freely-Shaped Watercolor Mushrooms

Embrace the Wobble! Ditch the straight lines and perfectionism—mushrooms were born to be quirky! In this relaxed, colorful workshop, we’ll explore the beauty of organic imperfection. You’ll learn to embrace wobbly brushstrokes, bleeding pigments, and unexpected shapes as we paint a vibrant patch of quirky fungi. Whether your mushrooms are tall and spindly or short and cheerful, you’ll leave with a whimsical masterpiece that celebrates the magic of letting go.

These programs are specifically for adults, though teens 14 and over are welcome with a registered adult.  Space is limited, and registration is required.
