Alexis Dahl: The Extinct Rock that Made Marquette

Thursday, January 28, 2026, 6:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m.  Peter White Public Library Community Room.  Teens, Adults, Seniors, Family Friendly.  Popular YouTuber and science/history content creator Alexis Dahl (videos on her channel have amassed over 10 million views) visits PWPL for a fascinating presentation titled The Extinct Rock that Made Marquette. Jasper Knob is one of the prettiest outcrops in the UP, but it's also deeply, mysteriously weird. In this talk, science communicator Alexis Dahl will unpack why this beautiful rock looks the way it does, why it hasn't formed on Earth in millions of years, and how it made Marquette the city we know today.  No admission charge.  For more information, contact Marty at 226-4322, machatz@pwpl.info, or visit pwpl.info.
