East Lansing, MI
East Lansing is a U.S. Southcentral Michigan city that is directly east of the state’s capital, Lansing. According to the 2010 census, East Lansing has a population of over 46,000 people. The city was home to two major Native American groups, the Potawatomi and the Fox. Today, East Lansing is best known as the home of Michigan State University. The downtown centers around Grand River Avenue. This street divides MSU’s campus and the rest of the city. Main attractions are the W.J. Beal Botanical Garden, the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, and the Potter Park Zoo. Some fun annual events include the East Lansing Film Festival, Winter Glow, and MSU Arts & Crafts Winter Show.
