Michigan is home to four distinct semi-aquatic furbearers: fur-producing mammals that have adapted to freshwater habitats and complete their life cycle in or near water. They are among the most enjoyable wild animals to observe, but many people find identifying them to be confusing, especially as they often appear to be swimming blobs of fluff. Join Washtenaw County Parks naturalist Elle Bogle for an exploration of these furry fellows and learn all about their differences, similarities, and the very important roles they play in the ecosystem.
