Eat & Engage: Michigan's Unique Steam Engine

Join us for a presentation by Bill Struck of the Steam Railroading Institute (SRI) about the Pere Marquette 1225. In addition to being part of the National Register of Historic Structures, the PM 1225 is renowned for its role in the 2004 Warner Brothers film THE POLAR EXPRESS™. SRI is dedicated to educating the public about steam-era railroading in Michigan & the Great Lakes Region. This includes the preservation of the skills & technology for maintaining steam locomotives by operating steam-era equipment & providing the experience of steam locomotives in actual operation, including the North Pole Express.
