Farmington Hills is the second largest city in Oakland County, Michigan, U.S. and has a population of over 79,000. The area was first settled by Arthur Power, a Quaker from Farmington, New York. In 2010 the city was ranked 30th for safest city in the U.S. and 14th on the list of America’s best cities to live. The city is known as the home to the only Holocaust Memorial in Michigan, the Holocaust Memorial Center. Other points of interest include Maybury State Park, Marvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum, and Carpenter Lake Nature Preserve.
