A successfully designed library benefits users the most through visualization and creativity. This webinar will cover two related topics: User experience design focuses on the user perspective first. Empathic design takes a user-centered approach with special attention to ensuring empathy and compassion toward the users. Combining user experience (UX) and empathic design calls librarians to analyze what users need, then create spaces, services, and programs with empathy and purpose. During this session, you will learn how to see your library through the eyes of others. This understanding will help ensure that your organization is prepared to seek solutions with compassion and grace.

From this webinar, you will:

• Find deeper meaning by prioritizing the user experience

• Apply empathy to transform users' perspective of libraries

• Discover and identify behavior to influence human-centered problem solving

• Learn how to ensure patrons’ needs focus on learning and growth

• Develop creative and practical application solutions from observation and user experience motivations
