Calling all family history buffs!! Genealogical Society of Flemish Americans (GSFA) is partnering with the Roseville Public Library for a group tour of their Buyse Library Research Center and their Belgian American Museum. The GSFA Librarian will provide patrons with fascinating look at the library & museum collections with information about how it all came together and the work that they do.
The GSFA works to promote and preserve Flemish heritage and to provide assistance and research to those who are interested in learning about genealogy. The Buyse Library houses the largest collection of Flemish genealogy outside of Belgium, as well as many genealogical resources. The Belgian American Museum is full of interesting traditional cultural pieces, including clothing, photographs, memorabilia, pottery and more.
All participants will meet at the American House at 13 Mile Rd & Kelly Rd. It is recommended that you park near the back St. Pio's Church and walk to American House. To get to the Library & Museum, enter via the side door to the Basement Wing B (there will be a chalkboard sign).
This event is open to all!!
Don't forget you can earn Summer Reading points for attending Library programs!!
