Topic of Virtual Session - From Carhartt to Wrangler: A Brief History of Workwear in American Music

Workwear is often the chosen fashion for musical performers in a range of genres. Country crooners don pearl snap-button shirts and jeans associated with agricultural labor, while hip hop artists perform in Michigan’s own Carhartt brand, designed for railroad workers. This talk explores the visual history of workwear in American music.
