Emily Helen Butterfield was Michigan’s first female architect, often working alongside her father, Wells Butterfield. But she was more than an architect—she was also an activist who served as the first president of the Detroit Women’s Business Club. Largely unknown to many, her work can still be found throughout the Greater Detroit area and across Michigan.
This lecture is presented virtually Tuesday, July 19th, at 12pm by the Historical Society of Michigan and Riley Hubbard. Please register to view this presentation on the screen in the White Lake Community Library’s Meeting Room.
