"History Hounds" is a virtual presentation of the Historical Society of Michigan. Learn about different episodes of Michigan's fascinating history from a variety of expert presenters. Episodes are 30-60 minutes in length.
Mackinac’s Island House Hotel: A Family Legacy with Todd Callewaert, Island House Hotel
"Initially constructed for Charles O’Malley in 1852 as a beachfront resort, the Island House was one of the first summer hotels on Mackinac Island. The Victorian structure was rescued from pending demolition in 1969 and has operated as a family business ever since. Join the presenter to learn the history of this striking Michigan Historic Landmark and the family that saved it."
