Once known as Livingston Center, Howell is a city centrally located in Livingston County, Michigan. The city was first settled by citizens from Detroit in 1835. As of 2017, the city has a population of 9,822. Fun attractions in Howell include Howell’s Mainstreet Winery, Howell Depot Museum, and Livingston County Courthouse. The city has unique events, such as the popular Michigan Challenge Balloonfest, the Howell Melon Festival, The Legend of Sleepy Howell, and The Fantasy of Lights.
