 Join us for an evening with Arthur Horwitz, publisher emeritus of the Detroit Jewish News and author of Dual Identities: Living in Meier's Shadow. In this engaging presentation, Horwitz will discuss his recently released and deeply personal memoir, which explores growing up as the son of a Holocaust survivor in postwar America and the lasting influence of family history on identity, memory, and belonging. Through the story of his own family, Dual Identities examines the transmission of Holocaust memory across generations while offering a candid portrait of family relationships, and the challenges and responsibilities inherited by the children of survivors.

Horwitz's distinguished career in journalism is closely connected to our local community. As publisher of the Detroit Jewish News for more than thirty years, including ten as its executive editor, he helped shape one of the nation's most influential Jewish newspapers, headquartered here in Southfield, while documenting the people, events, and institutions that have defined our community.
