In anticipation of the MANET/DEGAS exhibition opening at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC on September 24 2023, BTL is delighted to offer two individual lectures on each featured artist.

The first lecture will be on Édouard Manet who was a French modernist painter. He was one of the first 19th-century artists to paint modern life, as well as a pivotal figure in the transition from Realism to Impressionism. Registration requested.

Presenter: Janet Mandel is an award-winning art lecturer. She taught in New Jersey’s public schools for 32 years, the last eighteen of which were at Columbia High School in Maplewood, where she taught English, art history, and World Languages and Cultures.
