Join us to witness an alt-folk exceptional performance of what's sure to become a Garden State classic! The tale of the Jersey Devil is told through music, storytelling, and an eight-foot-tall puppet. This is an alt-rock, New Jersey Gothic musical that incorporates music, storytelling and puppetry to tell the story of the New Jersey Devil. and as writer Joyce Carol Oates said, “"There is no one remotely like Alex Dawson in Gothic New Jersey or anywhere else. A riveting, one-of-a-kind storyteller."
Presenter: Alex Dawson is a professor at Rutgers University, where he teaches creative writing courses. He wrote this hour-long bluegrass tale about the Jersey Devil with live music and a eight-foot wearable puppet costume. In 2024, they ran a sold-out fifteen-show tour in NY/NJ at bars, barns, and breweries and a four-night showcase at a Manhattan theater. Now they are coming to BTL !This event is sponsored by The Friends of BTL. Registration requested.
