The Dawn Giblin Trio meets at the intersection of blues, jazz and classical music. With a repertoire of popular songs composed from the 1920s - 1940s vocalist Dawn Giblin delivers stories and melodies as the composers intended with a warm and compelling voice. Dawn draws inspiration from great vocalists Ella Fitzgerald, Billy Holiday and Mildred Bailey. Pianist Mike Karloff who is equally at home in the jazz and classical world has been featured as orchestra pianist for the Windsor and Detroit Symphony. Cellist Mike Karoub is not only the greatest exponent of jazz cello but its inventor as well. His immersion in the classic era of jazz and his formidable technique give his idiomatic cello-playing the same freedom and power his heroes had. Convincing Jazz artists by themselves, they make up a unique and powerful trio.
