Lapeer, MI
The city of Lapeer is the county seat of Lapeer Township in Southeast Michigan, U.S. According to the 2010 census, the population is 8,841. The city’s name originates from the French word “la Pierre” which means “the rock”. It is a reference to the rock sediment, flint. Lapeer is a mix of historical and modern. People can visit historic sites such as Lapeer County Courthouse and Pix Theatre, as well as new attractions, such as Lake Nepessing Golfland, Gallery 194 and Gerlach’s Bowling Center. Visitors can participate in events throughout the year including Lapeer Days, The Great Pumpkin Ask, and Evening Art Stroll & Pub Crawl.
