In honor of the 60th anniversary of The Sound of Music, Hammerstein's 130th birthday & the Color Our World Summer Reading theme the library is hosting Lecture-In-Song: Rodgers & Hammerstein, which is a musical & anecdotal overview of the great Broadway team’s lives & partnership. Fred Miller will lead the presentation by singing and playing the piano along with including entertaining stories about the award-winning dynamic duo.
Adults don’t forget to join us for a free program, on Wednesday, July 16th from 6:30-7:30pm at the Civic Theatre. Join Rae Labadie, Associate Artistic Director/ Production Manager, for a backstage tour at Civic's Historic 19th Street Theatre. Explore the 98-year-old historic landmark and all its secrets including the beautifully restored auditorium and stage, tech and projection booth, prop storage, costume closets, rehearsal spaces and backstage! You'll learn what it takes to put on a production and what goes on behind the scenes. Register for this program on the library’s website.
