Life and Death at Fort Michilimackinac

Local historian Richard Beringer will share with us what life was like living at Fort Michilimackinac in the 1700s. Learn what really happened in Chief Pontiac's Rebellion and the resulting massacre of the British garrison on June 2nd, 1763. A bloody attack by the Ojibwe tribe, it was encouraged by the French to rid the area of British troops and influence. Today, we associate the area with fudge, t-shirts and carriage rides; tonight's program however, will prove there's a whole lot more to this historical area. No registration needed.
