Celebrate Mexican culture by learning how to make traditional Mexican perforated paper! Papel picado is the Mexican art of cutting tissue paper into beautiful designs and creating banners out of many pieces strung together for celebratory occasions. Learn about the history and cultural importance behind the celebratory craft and create some of your own.
This program will begin with a brief presentation on what papel picado is and what its cultural importance in celebrations means. After this brief presentation we will begin the craft, having a better understanding of what we are making.
Space is limited so this event is first come, first served. It is intended for adults.
