MDHHS SoilSHOP

Worried about lead in your garden or play area? Bring your soil to the MDHHS SoilSHOP on May 16th for a free screening!

A SoilSHOP is an event where you can bring soil from your garden or play area in your yard to be screened for lead at no cost. Results will be available soon after the soil is screened. MDHHS staff will be available to explain ways you can limit your exposure to lead in soil.

MDHHS recommends collecting 2-3cups of soil from the yard, dig no deeper than 6inches, remove rocks and debris, and place in a quart-sized bag.

The SoilSHOP will be held outdoors alongside the library's food truck event. Grab some delicious lunch from Whoa Tacos while you're there! (Food truck hours: 12-3 PM)
