Muskegon is the largest populated city on the eastern shores of Lake Michigan with a population of over 38,000. The city is located in West Central Michigan, U.S. and is the county seat of Muskegon County. The area was first founded by Paleo-Indian hunters thousands of years ago. Muskegon gets its name from the Ottawa word “Masquigon” which means “marshy river or swamp”. Popular attractions in the city are Michigan’s Adventure Amusement Park, Winter Sports Complex and the USS Silversides Submarine Museum. Popular events are Muskegon Bike Time, Michigan Irish Music Festival, and West Michigan Wine & Jazz Festival.
