Does your child love to explore? This free event for youth in grades 2 and up introduces the practice of nature journaling-where curiosity fuels creativity! No previous experience is required. Participants will spend time doing nature-centered activities before then diving into the process of nature journaling.
Nature journaling helps children develop critical thinking and observation skills while fostering a closer connection to the natural world. Their guide will be Kathryn Borowicz, a Michigan Certified Science Teacher and Environmental Educator with the Manistee Conservation District.
All art supplies and materials will be provided, and each registered participant will receive their very own journal to take home. Families are welcome to join. Younger children will not receive a journal but can use provided art supplies during the program under adult supervision. Adults should plan to stay at the library for the duration of the program. We'll be outdoors as weather allows, so please dress accordingly, but we will also be indoors if weather doesn't permit. Come explore and create with us!
