Oakland County Parks and Recreation
Oakland County's 13 beautiful parks contribute to the high quality of life that attracts businesses and residents to the area, making them Great Parks for Great People. Since its creation in 1966, Oakland County Parks and Recreation has grown to more than 6,700 acres. Providing quality recreation experiences that encourage healthy lifestyles, supports economic prosperity and promotes the protection of natural resources, the parks system offers a variety of year-round recreation opportunities ranging from camping, hiking, swimming, golfing and picnicking to cross-country skiing, ice skating and ice fishing. The parks system also includes five golf courses, three dog parks, two campgrounds, two nature centers and two waterparks.
