Oxford, MI

The village of Oxford has a small-town vibe with a population of over 3,400 people. It is located in Oakland County, Michigan and is part of the Oxford Charter Township. In the area’s early years, it was nicked named “The Barren Plains of Oxford” because people believed that the area was swampy and useless. A wolf trapper named Avery Brown was the first settler in 1823. Oxford proclaims itself to be the sister city to Oxford, England. At one point, the village was known as the “Gravel Pit Capital of the World”. Some fun places to visit include Ideal Escape Rooms, The Ox Bar and Grill, Seymour Lake Township Park, and Devil’s Ridge Golf Club. The village has annual events such as Scarecrow Festival and Concerts in Centennial Park.
