The Combating Hate/Fostering Change initiative will host a panel discussion on the challenges facing the LGBTQ+ community on March 13th at 5PM. The event can be attended either on Zoom or in-person in the Elting Memorial Library's Steinberg Room.
Panelists will include: Karl Bryant, PhD, Associate Professor of Sociology and Chair of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, SUNY New Paltz, Rae Leiner, Field Director for the National LGBTQ Task Force and Executive Director of the Newburgh LGBTQ+ Center, and Zack Delfavero, Owner of Manny's Art Supplies, SUNY graduate and artist, Board member and Trans Support Facilitator of the New Paltz Pride Coalition. The discussion will be moderated by Richard Heyl de Ortiz, Executive Director of the Hudson Valley LGBTQ+ Community Center and President of the Elting Memorial Library Board of Trustees.
