Do your project plans unravel after the first team meeting? Are your project outcomes often delayed or differ dramatically from expectations? Library professionals can apply project management best practices to improve a wide variety of projects, processes, and collaborative initiatives. Attendees will be introduced to the basic principles of project management and presented with essential strategies to help them plan and deliver more successful projects.
As a result of this program, attendees will:
· Identify the activities project management, and common areas of project planning;
· Develop a project plan incorporating scope, schedule, communications, quality, and deliverables.
· Apply techniques for engaging stakeholders and improving project outcomes.
Jami Yazdani ~ Biography
Jami Yazdani is a management consultant who began her library career in circulation roles before earning a library degree and has been a reference librarian, technology librarian, library manager, and library director. After more than 14 years in academic libraries, she turned her experience into Yazdani Consulting and Facilitation, where she helps mission-driven organizations lead more impactful projects, teams, and planning.
Jami holds an MLIS and a master's degree in Technology Management and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM). She is also the founder of Consultants for Libraries, a community directory of consultants working in libraries, museums, and archives.
