The Dorothy Hull Library is pleased to announce a collaboration with the People, Animals, Love (PAL) program starting in January. PAL is a non-profit organization that coordinates individually owned dogs to provide comfort to people in places such as care facilities and libraries. Because of the Pandemic, the young readers program moved on line and PAL expanded their outreach to libraries around the nation.
This program will last 30 minutes, including introductions to all participants, readers, handlers and dogs, and two breakout sessions where the beginning reader gets to read to a different PAL dog each session.
All you need is a zoom connection, a book and your beginning reader! Space is limited to 8 participants for each session, so if you are interested call the library at 646 0366 and we can get you registered.
We are planning on continuing these sessions twice a month, so if we have more than eight children expressing interest, we will schedule them for a future session. Zoom information will be provided at registration.
