On Thursday, May 15 at 6:30 p.m., ages 18 and older are invited to Seekers Book Club to discuss Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates. The group meets at the Langston Centre (315 Elm Street, Johnson City) on the third Thursday of every month.

Between the World and Me is "a mix of lyrical personal narrative, reimagined history, essayistic argument, and reportage -- Coates provides readers a thrillingly illuminating new framework for understanding race: its history, our contemporary dilemma, and where we go from here" (Spiegel & Grau, 2015).
Seekers Book Club is a monthly book discussion group that reads classic and contemporary works by African American authors. The series is a partnership between Johnson City Public Library and the Langston Centre.
