Small group guitar lessons with Amy Laber (Gardiner Library’s “Miss Amy”) for children 5-7 years old. Beginner guitar lessons for young children with a gentle, playful approach. We will learn the parts of a guitar, how to tune strings, and explore basic musical concepts such as beat, rhythm and pitch. Students will approach learning simple melodies and chords. Starting guitar lessons at an early age can help children to develop patience and self-confidence, improve coordination and concentration, learn a new skill, and make new friends! Groups are limited to 4 students per each 4-week session. Students are required to bring their own (1/2 sized) acoustic guitar, pick, tuner and small 3 ring binder to organize handouts. Registration for all 4 weeks is required. Please email Amy at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions. Amy is a singer-songwriter, early childhood music specialist, and children’s librarian. With over 20 years of experience making music with young children, her approach is patient, caring, encouraging and fun!
