Smart Towns: The Flawed Victory of Women's Suffrage

The passage of the 19th Amendment provided the right to vote for all adult women in the United States.This victory was the result of a long and arduous political process that required significant compromises. In this program, Karen Miller will examine what women's suffrage accomplished, and what it failed to achieve. Karen A.J. Miller is an associate professor at Oakland University in the Department of History. Her research concerns American political identity and public policy making in the 20th century. This presentation is open to the public. Registrants will receive an email confirmation upon registering. This program will be recorded for later viewing.
