South Lyon, MI
The city of South Lyon is located in Southeast Michigan and is part of Oakland County. The city was founded in 1832 and originally named Thompson’s Corners. It became the village of Lyon Township in 1873. It was named after Lucius Lyon, a member of the State Legislature and its location within the township. Annual events include Concerts in the Park and their largest festival, Pumpkinfest. Some fun things to do in South Lyon are the Witch’s Hat Depot Museum and Historic Village, McHattie Park, Huron Valley Trail, and Erwin’s Orchard.
