Sterling Heights, MI
The city of Sterling Heights is located in Macomb County, Michigan. It is one of Detroit’s core suburbs and is only 16 miles from Downtown Detroit. Sterling Heights is the fourth largest city in Michigan and has a population of over 100,000 people. It is ranked as the safest city in Michigan. Sterling Heights’s motto is: “To Strive on Behalf of All”. “Heights” was added to the end of the name so that it would not be mistaken for the city of Sterling located in Arenac County. The city has five sister cities, which are Tetovo, Macedonia; Casino Italy; Sorsogon City, Philippines; Shengjin, Albania; and Jaffna, Sir Lanka. Some annual events include the Memorial Day Parade, Music in the Park, Sterlingfest, and the Cultural Exchange. Top attractions in Sterling Heights are the Sterling Heights Nature Center, Kart 2 Kart, and Freedom Hill.
