In collaboration with Baton Rouge Gallery’s annual Surreal Salon, the East Baton Rouge Parish Library presents a two-part community event series at the Main Library — offering an opportunity for locals to get creative, connect, and celebrate the spirit of surrealism.
Get ready for costume season at the library! Drop by the Main Library on January 14 between 4:30-7:30 pm to get inspired, design, build, or assemble your own surreal costume — whether whimsical, uncanny, fantastical, or totally out-there.
Basic materials and inspiration will be available; but bring your imagination, and any supplies you may want to share or swap! No prior crafting experience needed — everyone is welcome.
Then, come back after the Soirée for part two of this series, to show off your creation in a community-focused costume showcase on January 28 from 5-7pm.
